Sarcopyramis sp. Sumatra Blue

Sarcopyramis sp. Sumatra Blue is a very rare and highly iridescent plant from the Melastomataceae family. It comes from Sumatra, a large island in Indonesia. It requires super high humidity (97% and above), warm temperatures and low, indirect light. It has dark, velvety leaves that flash bright holographic blue when they catch the light. This plant propagates readily via stem cuttings. It is a very slow grower and I will likely not have more available for a while. This particular one is a juvenile plant that was grown from a stem cutting and is lightly rooted. I recommend the Sarcopyramis sp. for collectors who are experienced with growing tropical begonias and other terrarium plants.
